Retiree death
Under a joint-life (cobeneficiary) option, the cobeneficiary receives a lifetime monthly benefit equal to the amount the retiree was receiving. Under Options 1, 2, or 3 with a remaining account balance, the named beneficiary receives a single payment of the balance.
