The Oregon Employment Department administers unemployment insurance through the Frances Online system. The Department publishes no separate deceased-claimant procedure. Under ORS 657.255(2), unemployment benefits that were due to a person who died but remain unpaid may be paid to a survivor the director designates, in a statutory order beginning with the surviving spouse.

Who may be paid
Under ORS 657.255(2), unemployment benefits that were due to the person but remain unpaid may be paid to a person the director designates, in this order: the surviving spouse; then surviving children, including adopted children; then the mother or father of the deceased.
Documentation
Oregon prescribes no statutory affidavit, form, or dollar limit for unemployment benefits paid to a survivor under ORS 657.255(2), and the Employment Department publishes none. Ask the UI Contact Center what proof of death and proof of relationship it needs before sending anything.
