State Unemployment Benefits in Oklahoma

The Oklahoma Employment Security Commission administers unemployment benefits. Oklahoma publishes no procedure for a deceased claimant: the OESC rule on paying a deceased worker's claim (OAC 240:10-3-25) was revoked in 2013, and benefits are paid only for weeks for which the claimant filed a weekly certification. Contact OESC directly about any week claimed before the death.

Weekly certification required

No published deceased-claimant rule
OAC 240:10-3-25, "Payment of claim of deceased worker," is revoked (30 Ok Reg 484, eff. 5-15-13). Neither the Employment Security Act of 1980 (40 O.S.) nor the OES-339 claimant handbook publishes a replacement procedure or a death-reporting form. Phone contact with OESC is the documented channel.
