Hawaii has adopted UPOAA § 302HRS § 551E-3(d), (f)Verified May 30, 2026: an out-of-state POA is valid in Hawaii if it was validly executed under the law of the place of execution or the principal's domicile when signed. HRS § 551E-3(d): out-of-state POA valid if execution complied with (1) law of jurisdiction determining meaning and effect per § 551E-3(f), or (2) military POA requirements per 10 U.S.C. § 1044b. § 551E-3(f): meaning and effect determined by law of jurisdiction indicated in POA, or if none indicated, jurisdiction where executed. Note: unlike standard UPOAA § 106, Hawaii's version does NOT explicitly include principal's domicile as an alternative basis for validity.
