Fax filing is prohibited for all filings effective January 1, 2026 (La. R.S. 13:850). Advance deposit for a succession is $300.00; small succession filings are also $300.00. If a curator is appointed, an additional $300.00 deposit is required. Costs are deducted from the deposit as they accrue; the clerk may refuse further action when the deposit is exhausted until additional funds are provided.
