Small estate option
If the deceased's total personal property (net of debts) is $50,000 or less — or $100,000 or less for Alaska-registered vehicles — and no probate case has been opened, a successor (heir, beneficiary, or named personal representative) may present Form P-110 (Affidavit for Collection of Personal Property of Decedent) in lieu of full probate Letters.
