Frequently asked questions

Search claimitar.gov, then file a claim with a certified death certificate and proof of your authority — a probated will or Letters if the estate was probated, or the Auditor's affidavit of heirship for claims under $10,000.

Every claim requires government-issued identification and a Social Security number. To claim for a deceased owner, you also provide a certified death certificate and documentation of your relationship or estate authority.

Arkansas holds unclaimed property until it is claimed, so there is generally no deadline for the owner or their heirs to file a claim. There is no charge to file a claim.
