What happens to Ubisoft Connect game library when someone dies

“The Services and Content are LICENSED TO YOU, NOT SOLD. This means we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensed, and revocable right and license to use the Services and access the Content, for your entertainment, non-commercial use, subject to your compliance with these Terms.”¹

Ubisoft licenses its Services and Content rather than selling them, and title and ownership stay with Ubisoft or its licensors; the license is personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensed and revocable.¹

Ubisoft Connect Units are not the holder's property: they represent limited license rights and have no monetary or real-world value.²

On termination of an account, the holder loses access to the account and all save files and in-game progression.¹

Closing an account ends access to the games owned on Ubisoft Connect PC and on linked platforms, and an active subscription has to be cancelled before the account can be closed.³

A closed account is placed in a 30-day suspension before permanent closure, after which Ubisoft states it cannot restore associated data or recover the account.³

On termination, no credit for unused Services, unused subscription period, unused points or Ubisoft Virtual Currency is credited or converted into cash, and unused Virtual Currency is non-refundable except where the law requires.¹

No money or other compensation is given for unused or expired Units or rewards when an account is closed.²

A Ubisoft+ subscription from the Ubisoft Store or Ubisoft Connect PC is cancelled on the My Subscription page, and one bought on another platform store is cancelled on that platform.⁴

A cancelled subscription runs to the end of its period, a renewal already invoiced may still be charged, and the account cannot be closed until the active subscription ends.⁴

Ubisoft closes an inactive account only when every criterion is met: no login in the last four years, not a child or teen account, and no game ownership, active subscription, purchased or redeemed content, or saved progression.⁵

An account holding a game library, subscription, purchases or saved progression does not meet those criteria, so it stays open until someone acts.⁵

Ubisoft states that inactive accounts may also be closed immediately at its discretion, on a case-by-case basis.⁵

Under the Terms of Use, the holder must "Never share your Account details (username, password...) with anyone" and "Never authorize anyone to access and/or use your Account."^{1, 6}
