What happens to Midjourney accounts when the owner dies

Because owning the assets and having access to the account are two different things. Midjourney says the subscription and image history "can't be transferred," and that the image gallery, image count history, and other account-specific details will not move to another account. So the archive is estate property sitting inside an account the estate cannot inherit. That gap is exactly what a written request to Midjourney asks it to bridge, as a discretionary matter. Cancelling stops future payments and ends image generation at the close of the billing cycle, while the account, the generated images, and the account history stay reachable. Deleting is a different, irreversible act: started from the Manage Subscription page at midjourney.com/account, it cancels the subscription immediately, opens a 7-day window during which it can be reversed, and then deletes the account and its associated data within 30 days, after which the account cannot be restored. An estate should never start a deletion until it has downloaded everything it wants and finished any request to Midjourney.
