Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current subscription term (Section 2.6.2); confirmation arrives via email shortly after the request. Account deletion is a separate request and Peacock does not publish a service-level timeline for it. Section 5.3 lets Peacock terminate accounts inactive for an extended period (for example, more than one year), but paid subscriptions continue billing until cancelled regardless of activity.

When a Peacock account holder dies, accounts are forfeited under NBCUniversal Media, LLC's terms. The account balance has no transferable value, and there is no formal process for heirs to claim accounts.

Some families have reported receiving accommodations from NBCUniversal Media, LLC customer service, though this is not part of the official policy.

What to do

After a Peacock account holder's death, here is how to proceed:

1
Cancel the deceased's subscription to stop recurring charges. Section 2.6.1 of the Terms of Use directs subscribers to "log into your Peacock service account and follow the instructions on your Account Details page" to cancel:
  • With account access: sign in at peacocktv.com and follow the cancellation instructions on the Account Details page.
  • Without account access: use the Help Center "Find my Account" tool at peacocktv.com/help/account-finder to recover the email on file, then reset the password and cancel from inside the account.
  • If account recovery is not possible, contact Peacock through the Help Center channels (search and contact options at peacocktv.com/help) and explain that you need to close a deceased family member's account.
  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of the then-current subscription term (Section 2.6.2); cancel no later than the day before the next recurring billing date to avoid another charge.
2
Account deletion is a separate request from subscription cancellation. Cancelling the subscription stops billing but the email, profile, watchlist, and viewing history remain on file. To permanently remove the account, submit a deletion request through the Peacock Help Center after the subscription is cancelled.
3
If Peacock was billed through a third party, cancel at the source. Peacock cannot stop charges billed by partners:
  • Apple (App Store / iTunes): Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions on the deceased's iPhone, iPad, or Mac.
  • Google Play: play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions while signed into the deceased's Google account.
  • Roku: My Subscriptions on the Roku account page.
  • Amazon (Prime Video Channels or Fire TV): Your Memberships and Subscriptions in the Amazon account.
  • Comcast Xfinity, Cox, or Spectrum internet/cable bundle: contact the internet/cable provider directly; Peacock cannot modify bundle billing.
  • Instacart+ or Walmart+ free-Peacock benefit: cancel the underlying membership to end the Peacock benefit.
4
Once the subscription ends, any downloaded titles on the deceased's devices (Premium Plus offline downloads) become inaccessible. There is no way to preserve offline downloads, and nothing on Peacock has resale or transfer value.
5
Watchlists, continue-watching positions, and viewing history are tied to the account and cannot be migrated to another household member's account. Peacock has no profile-transfer feature.
6
If the estate cannot get the subscription cancelled quickly, the paid plan keeps billing. Section 5.3 reserves the right to terminate Peacock accounts inactive for an extended period (for example, more than one year), but billing does not stop on its own -- "inactive" termination is at Peacock's discretion and is not a substitute for cancelling.

Required Documents

  • No formal documentation policy is published by Peacock for deceased account holders -- the Terms of Use and Help Center do not address death, estates, or beneficiaries
  • Account credentials (email and password) for self-service cancellation and deletion through the Account Details page
  • The email address or phone on the account is needed for the Help Center "Find my Account" recovery flow
  • Payment method on file is useful for identity verification if you reach support without credentials
  • A death certificate may be requested by a support agent when closing an account without credentials, even though the published policy does not list one as required

Frequently asked questions

Peacock publishes no bereavement-specific policy. The paid subscription has to be cancelled to stop charges, and a separate deletion request closes the account itself. Section 2.2 of the Terms of Use describes the subscription as "non-assignable, and non-transferable," and Section 9.5 voids any assignment made without Peacock's prior written consent, so content access ends when the subscription ends.

Section 2.6.1 of the Terms of Use directs users to "log into your Peacock service account and follow the instructions on your Account Details page." If you have login credentials, sign in at peacocktv.com and follow the in-account cancellation flow. Without credentials, use the Help Center "Find my Account" tool to recover the email on file, reset the password, and cancel from inside the account, or contact Peacock through the Help Center channels and explain the situation. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing term (Section 2.6.2).

Peacock's primary support channels are its Help Center at peacocktv.com/help (search and contact options) and its social channels: @peacock on Instagram, @peacock on X, @peacocktv on Facebook, @peacocktv on YouTube, and @peacock on TikTok. Peacock does not publish a customer service phone number, and live-chat hours are not currently published on the Help Center; the contact options surface inside individual help articles when you start a request.

No. Watchlists, continue-watching positions, and viewing history are tied to the account and cannot be moved to another member's account. Premium Plus offline downloads on the deceased's devices become inaccessible once the subscription ends.

Under the official terms, accounts have no value after the account holder dies. The only way to preserve the value of Peacock accounts is to redeem, transfer, or share them while the account is active.
