Adobe offers a suite of creative and document tools including Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects, InDesign, XD), Document Cloud (Acrobat, Sign), Lightroom, Adobe Stock, Adobe Fonts, Adobe Express, and Firefly AI. An Adobe account can hold cloud-synced files, Lightroom photo libraries, Stock license history, font activations, Creative Cloud Libraries, and Adobe Sign agreements.

Adobe Inc. reviews transfer requests for Adobe accounts on a case-by-case basis after the account holder's death. Approval is at the company's sole discretion, and documentation requirements must be met before any transfer is considered.

What happens at death

Adobe has a formal process for closing accounts on behalf of someone else, now covering death, incapacitation, and incarceration, accessed via the Adobe privacy inquiry form. This process covers subscription cancellation and account closure only. Adobe does not document granting file access or transferring cloud-stored content to executors or family members. The process requires a death certificate (or other relevant documentation) plus proof of your legal authority to act on the account holder's behalf. Adobe states it reviews the request and responds by email within 7 business days. After cancellation, cloud storage is reduced to 5GB and you have a 30-day grace period to bring usage under that limit before files over the cap are deleted. Lightroom original images are retained for approximately 1 year after the subscription lapses. Free accounts are subject to deletion after a period of inactivity, with email notice before deletion.
