Levo Credit Union offers 14 accounts, each with its own rules for what happens when a member dies. As a membership-based credit union, Levo Credit Union membership open to anyone who works, lives, worships, attends school, or volunteers in any of 29 qualifying counties across South Dakota (Beadle, Brookings, Brown, Clay, Codington, Davison, Day, Grant, Hamlin, Hanson, Kingsbury, Lake, Lincoln, Marshall, McCook, Minnehaha, Moody, Roberts, Turner, Union, Yankton), North Dakota (Cass, Ransom, Richland, Sargent), Iowa (Plymouth, Sioux, Woodbury), and Minnesota (Clay). 8 branch locations: 6 in Sioux Falls, 1 in Sioux City IA, 1 in Fargo ND. $5 minimum deposit to join. Some transfer automatically to a named beneficiary, others can be held in a trust, and a few may require probate if no plan is in place.

Beneficiary changes at Levo Credit Union can be made in branch and by phone. Accounts can also be retitled into a trust to keep them out of probate entirely.

There are two sides to estate planning at Levo Credit Union: setting things up while you're alive, and the process survivors follow after a death.
