With 12 products relevant to estate planning, Globe Life policyholders need to understand how beneficiary designations control where proceeds go. These designations override a will, so the names on file with Globe Life are what determine who receives the death benefit.
Beneficiary designations at Globe Life can be managed online, by mail, and by phone, typically taking 10-20 minutes. Trust funding is also available, allowing families to name a trust as the policy beneficiary or establish an irrevocable life insurance trust (ILIT).
There are two sides to estate planning at Globe Life: setting things up while you're alive, and the process survivors follow after a death.

You can name primary and contingent beneficiaries with specific percentage allocations. Use full legal names rather than generic designations like "my spouse" or "my children" to avoid disputes. Completing a new form replaces all existing designations. Changes can only be made during the lifetime of the insured. Globe Life allows you to change your beneficiary whenever you want and does not limit the number of times you change the beneficiary.
Yes. Globe Life allows you to name a revocable living trust as the primary or contingent beneficiary of your life insurance policy. When designating a trust, provide the full legal trust name, the date the trust was established, and the Trust EIN (Employer Identification Number). You can make this change online through your policyholder account at myaccount.globelifeinsurance.com, or by calling 1-800-654-5433 to request a Policy Change Request form. Naming a trust as beneficiary allows proceeds to pass through the trust and bypass probate. Whole life, term life, final expense, children's life, and mortgage protection policies all support trust beneficiary designations.
