Dime offers 10 consumer accounts that interact with estate planning in distinct ways. Of those, 9 can name a trust as beneficiary or be retitled into a trust. Understanding the transfer methods available for each account type helps families keep assets out of probate and ensure they pass to the right people.

Managing beneficiaries at Dime is straightforward—changes can be made in branch and by phone, typically taking 15-30 minutes at a branch. Trust funding is also available, allowing families to retitle accounts into the name of a revocable living trust.

Dime has documented procedures for both preparing accounts during your lifetime and handling claims when an account holder passes away.

Yes. Dime Financial Services (DFS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Dime Community Bank, offers financial planning and investment consultation through a partnership with LPL Financial, the nation's largest independent broker-dealer. Advisors construct personalized investment strategies and can collaborate with clients' attorneys on estate planning. Investment accounts through LPL Financial may have separate beneficiary designation and trust titling processes. Contact Dime at 1-800-321-3463 or visit https://www.dime.com/wealth-management for details. Securities offered through LPL Financial are not bank deposits, not FDIC-insured, not guaranteed by the bank, and may lose value.

Visit any Dime Community Bank branch with your trust agreement or Certification of Trust, government-issued photo ID for all trustees, and the trust's Tax Identification Number (Social Security Number for revocable living trusts; EIN for irrevocable trusts). The bank will review the trust documentation and may request additional pages or the full trust agreement. Trustees must sign the account signature card. Deposit accounts including checking, savings, money market, and CDs can be retitled to a trust; IRAs cannot be retitled but a trust may be named as IRA beneficiary.

Dime Community Bank Certificates of Deposit require a $500 minimum opening deposit, with terms ranging from 3 months to 7 years. Longer terms generally offer higher interest rates. CDs are FDIC-insured and carry a fixed interest rate for the term selected. Promotional CDs (such as the Diamond 11 Month CD) may require higher minimum deposits ($10,000-$25,000) and may require new money. POD beneficiary designations are available on CDs.
