Crypto.com does not currently support beneficiary designations, transfer-on-death registrations, or trust account titling on any account type. All Crypto.com accounts pass through the estate at death and may require probate.

When an account holder dies, the executor or administrator will need to contact Crypto.com with a death certificate and legal authority documents to claim account balances. The process and required documents are covered on the death claim page.

Crypto.com does not currently support beneficiary designations (POD or TOD) on any account type. All accounts transfer through the estate at death and may require probate.

Why trust accounts are not available

Crypto.com does not support retitling accounts into a trust, naming a trust as beneficiary, or any other probate-avoidance mechanism. Account balances transfer through the estate at death. Consumer Crypto.com accounts cannot be retitled to a trust. Trust entities must onboard through Crypto.com Custody Trust Company, LLC (Foris DAX Trust Company, LLC), a non-depository trust company chartered by the New Hampshire Banking Department and a qualified custodian. Note that assets custodied by Foris DAX Trust Company are not FDIC or SIPC insured; the custody service instead carries USD 120 million in crime and specie digital asset insurance coverage arranged by Aon. On February 23, 2026, Crypto.com received conditional approval from the OCC to charter Foris Dax National Trust Bank (d.b.a. Crypto.com National Trust Bank), which would operate as a limited-purpose national trust bank offering custody, staking, and trade settlement for digital assets. Contact Crypto.com Custody for current onboarding requirements.

Crypto.com App Trading Account

Primary cryptocurrency trading account available through the Crypto.com mobile app (iOS and Android). Supports buying, selling, and holding hundreds of cryptocurrencies. Crypto.com does not support beneficiary designations (POD or TOD) on individual consumer accounts. Estate planning documents or state intestate succession laws dictate ownership transfer at death. The Level Up program (Plus, Pro, Private tiers) provides enhanced trading benefits including reduced fees.

Probate Required

Crypto.com Exchange

Advanced trading platform supporting spot trading, margin trading, and derivatives. Lists hundreds of coins and 600+ trading pairs. Perpetual futures available with leverage up to 50x. Foris DAX Markets LLC and Foris DAX FCM LLC hold CFTC-approved derivatives licenses for margined derivatives in the US. Same estate transfer rules apply as the main App trading account -- no beneficiary designations available.

Probate Required

Crypto Earn

Earn rewards on deposited crypto assets with flexible or fixed-term allocations. Reward rates vary by token, term length, Level Up tier, and total deposited amount. Level Up Private tier members receive additional bonus APY (1% to 2% p.a. extra on fixed-term allocations, paid in CRO). No separate beneficiary designation -- Earn balances are part of the user's Crypto.com account and follow the same estate transfer process.

Probate Required

Cash Earn

US-only product allowing customers to earn up to 5.00% APY on their USD cash balance, paid in CRO. USD Cash Earn Account is held in partnership with Green Dot Bank, Member FDIC, and its partner network of FDIC-insured banks. Up to $5 million in Cash Earn funds are FDIC-insured through a cash sweeps program. No minimum balance, no lockup period, no setup or transfer fees, and maximum balance of $10 million. APY depends on Level Up tier. No separate beneficiary designation applies -- Cash Earn assets follow the same estate transfer process as the main account.

Probate Required

On-Chain Staking

Stake crypto assets directly on supported blockchain protocols through the Crypto.com App. Supports 30+ tokens with flexible lock-up options. APY rates vary by cryptocurrency and market conditions (up to 18.24% per year on select tokens). Staked assets remain associated with the user's account and follow the same estate transfer rules.

Probate Required

Crypto.com Visa Prepaid Card

Prepaid Visa debit card with tiers tied to the Level Up program. Tiers and CRO cashback on everyday spending: Midnight Blue (free, 0% CRO), Ruby Steel ($4.99/month or $49.90/year, or $500 CRO staking; 2% CRO with $25 monthly rewards cap), Jade Green/Royal Indigo ($29.99/month or $299.90/year, or $5,000 CRO staking; 3% CRO with $75 monthly rewards cap), Icy White/Rose Gold ($50,000 CRO staking; 4% CRO, no monthly cap), and Obsidian ($500,000 CRO staking; 5% CRO, no monthly cap). Higher tiers add perks such as streaming/subscription rebates, airport lounge access, and concierge services. The card is tied to the account holder and does not transfer to heirs.

Probate Required

Crypto.com Visa Signature Credit Card

Visa Signature credit card with $0 annual fee and tiered cashback in BTC or CRO based on Level Up subscription tier: Basic/Midnight (free, 1.5% back), Plus/Ruby ($4.99/month or $49.90/year, 3.5% back), Pro (Jade/Indigo, $29.99/month or $299.90/year, 4.5% back), and Private (Icy/Rose/Obsidian, requires CRO lockup, up to 5% back). Includes welcome bonus offers, automatic enrollment in Level Up rewards, and Visa Signature travel benefits at higher tiers. Credit cards are tied to the individual account holder and cannot be retitled to a trust.

Probate Required

Crypto.com NFT

NFT marketplace supporting collections on Ethereum, Cronos, Polygon, and Cronos POS Chain blockchains. Features creator minting with a $3 submission fee, no gas fees when buying with Crypto.com wallet, rarity rankings, and customizable price alerts. Checkout supports CRO, BTC, ETH, USDC, and other cryptocurrencies. NFTs held within the Crypto.com platform are part of the user's account and follow the same estate transfer process. NFTs held in self-custody wallets require the owner's private keys or recovery phrase for heir access.

Probate Required

Crypto.com Onchain

Self-custody (non-custodial) wallet formerly known as Crypto.com DeFi Wallet. Users control their own private keys, which are encrypted locally on the device with Secure Enclave and protected by biometric and 2-factor authentication. Supports 4,000+ cryptocurrencies across 30+ Layer 1 and Layer 2 networks. Includes DeFi Earn integration, dapp browser, NFT management, and a browser extension. A Crypto.com account is not required to use Onchain. Because Crypto.com Onchain is self-custodial, Crypto.com cannot assist with transferring wallet assets after death -- heirs must have the recovery phrase or private keys. Estate planning for self-custody crypto requires securely storing and passing recovery phrases to trusted parties.
