SEFCU and CAP COM Federal Credit Union merged in 2023 to form Broadview Federal Credit Union. All former SEFCU and CAP COM accounts, routing numbers, and services transitioned to Broadview. The combined institution has approximately $9 billion in assets and more than 500,000 members with over 60 branches, making it one of the largest credit unions in New York state. Existing POD designations, trust accounts, and beneficiary records carried over to Broadview, but estate-paperwork holders should confirm beneficiaries on file at 800-727-3328 since the merger consolidated systems.
Broadview does not currently offer online POD beneficiary designation. Visit any branch (https://www.broadviewfcu.com/branches-and-locations/) with government-issued photo ID, or call 800-727-3328 to request a POD beneficiary designation form by mail. Provide each beneficiary's full legal name, date of birth, Social Security number, and relationship to the account holder. All account holders must sign the form. POD designations are available on personal deposit accounts (checking, savings, money market, certificates). Business accounts, youth, and young adult accounts are not eligible.
Yes. Per Broadview's specialty accounts page (https://www.broadviewfcu.com/personal/specialty-accounts/), Broadview opens revocable trust, irrevocable trust, and burial trust accounts. Each requires the trust agreement, valid ID for all signers, and the type-specific account application. Irrevocable trusts additionally require the IRS EIN Assignment Letter; revocable living trusts can be opened using the grantor's SSN. Call 800-727-3328 or visit a branch to discuss requirements.
Broadview IRA certificates are administered through a partnership with Superior IRA, so IRA beneficiary designations use a separate form from the deposit-account POD process. IRA accounts cannot be retitled to a trust, but you can name a trust as the IRA beneficiary by completing the Superior IRA beneficiary designation form. Call 800-727-3328 or visit a branch to request the form.
