Aspida is a insurance company with 10 products relevant to estate planning. Life insurance and annuity proceeds transfer directly to named beneficiaries outside of probate, making beneficiary designations one of the most important estate planning steps for Aspida policyholders.

Beneficiary designations at Aspida can be managed online, by mail, and by phone, typically taking 7-10 business days for processing. Trust funding is also available, allowing families to name a trust as the policy beneficiary or establish an irrevocable life insurance trust (ILIT).

Aspida has documented procedures for both preparing accounts during your lifetime and handling claims when an account holder passes away.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. A trust can be named as beneficiary on all Aspida annuity products. Log in to the Aspida Customer Portal at customer.aspida.com and click Edit Beneficiary Info to designate a trust as primary or contingent beneficiary. You will need the full legal name of the trust, the date the trust was established, and the trustee name. The beneficiary designation on the annuity contract supersedes any conflicting provisions in a will or trust regarding the annuity proceeds. Contact Aspida customer service at (833) 427-7432 for assistance.

Log in to the Aspida Customer Portal at customer.aspida.com or call customer service at (833) 427-7432 to request a beneficiary change form. You can also email ClientSupport@aspida.com. Allow 7-10 business days for processing. Community property states may require spousal consent.
