How to protect your Roblox account while you are alive

How to protect your Roblox accounts
- •Only you can submit the request, pass identity verification and keep a W-9 or W-8 on file, with your legal name matching across the request, the payment portal, the tax form and the bank account.
- •An account with no authenticated sessions for two and a half years or more is ineligible for DevEx.
- •A transfer request expires after 7 days.
- •Once the transfer is accepted the game is made private and its servers closed, and it keeps its old game ID, place ID and URL, so plan to republish it.
- •With a Roblox Plus subscription you can send Robux to another age-verified user, up to 500 a day and 1,000 a month.
- •The limits rise to 5,000 a day and 10,000 a month with 2-Step Verification enabled and your account in good standing.
- •Those transfers are final, cannot be reversed and are not eligible for DevEx on the receiving side.
- •Trading and reselling both require an active Roblox Plus subscription on each side, so a survivor without one cannot receive a trade.

The Terms of Use prohibit selling an account or its access credentials to another user, and purchasing another user's account or access credentials.1
Transferring an account in connection with the sale of the right to earn Robux from Virtual Content it created, under a valid written agreement, is permitted; the exception does not permit selling Robux or Virtual Content outside the Services.1
A Roblox Premium membership cannot be transferred to another account.2
- Transfers to another member
A Roblox Plus subscriber can send Robux to another user without platform fees, and recipients need no subscription; all parties must be age-verified and 18 or over, with a parent or caregiver approving transfers for users under 18.3
Robux transfer limits are 500 a day and 1,000 a month, rising to 5,000 a day and 10,000 a month with 2-Step Verification enabled and the account in good standing. Transfers are final, cannot be reversed and are not eligible for DevEx.3
Limited and Limited U collectibles can be traded or resold; both sides of a trade need an active Roblox Plus subscription and inventory visibility turned on, and trading is not available to users in South Korea.4
Limited items went off sale and can now only be obtained from another player, and Limited U copies carry individual serial numbers.4
- Workspace roles and admin access
A Community (group) owner can hand ownership to another member through Configure Community; "ownership transfers cannot be undone," and an owner who leaves without transferring leaves the community "owned by no one."5
- Authorized users and delegates
A parent or guardian age checked as 18 or older, with a government-issued ID or a credit card, can link to a child's account to hold parent privileges over screen time, spending, content maturity and communication; this is oversight, not shared ownership.6
Should you save your passwords for your family?
Some people store account passwords so a family member can sign in later. The practice has three practical limits:
- Two-factor authentication often blocks it. Most accounts require a second factor — a code sent to a phone, an authenticator app, a passkey, or a physical key. A saved password alone frequently does not grant access, and the recovery codes that would are easy to lose or let go stale.
- It usually conflicts with the platform's terms. Most operators prohibit account sharing and signing in as another person, including after a death. Stored credentials are not the operator's recognized access path, and using them can violate the terms of service.
- Operators provide other paths. Where an operator offers a designation tool — Apple's Legacy Contact, Google's Inactive Account Manager, a beneficiary designation — that mechanism grants access the operator recognizes. A password manager's own emergency-access or legacy feature passes credentials through a controlled process. Digital assets named in a will or trust give a fiduciary authority under each state's Revised Uniform Fiduciary Access to Digital Assets Act (RUFADAA).
