Redbubble — deceased-artist account closure ("When an Artist Passes"); no dedicated estates phone line or email published
Redbubble Inc, 170 Grant Avenue, Suite 600, San Francisco, CA 94108, USA (Redbubble also publishes Redbubble Europe GmbH, c/o Denizen Eiswerk, Koepenicker Strasse 40-41, 10179 Berlin, Germany; and Articore Group Limited, Level 12, 697 Collins St., Docklands, Victoria 3008, Australia)
Redbubble is a global print-on-demand marketplace where independent artists upload artwork that is printed to order on stickers, apparel, phone cases, wall art and home decor, with the artist earning a margin on each sale. The contracting entity is Redbubble Inc of San Francisco; the listed parent is Articore Group Limited, which also operates TeePublic. An artist account holds the shop identity, the uploaded designs, an accrued earnings balance and the sales history. Two facts separate this from an ordinary online account. First, the designs are copyright assets in their own right: the User Agreement leaves ownership with the artist and takes only a non-exclusive licence, so the copyrights pass to the estate whatever happens to the account. Second, the account itself does not pass — only a single natural person may own an account, and Redbubble's published deceased-artist path closes it, removing the profile and every uploaded work, with final payments processed.
After a Redbubble account holder dies, Redbubble Inc (Articore Group Limited) may transfer accounts to a designated recipient, but this is handled case by case. The outcome depends on the documentation provided and is entirely at Redbubble Inc (Articore Group Limited)'s discretion.
What happens at death
Redbubble publishes a dedicated deceased-artist path, and its outcome is closure rather than transfer or continuation. Under the heading "When an Artist Passes", the account-closure article states: "We're deeply saddened when we lose one of the independent Artists on the Redbubble marketplace. In situations like this, the account may need to be closed as required by law." To finalize closure Redbubble asks for the account username, the full name on the account, the email address on the account, the physical address on the account, and a scanned death certificate or death notice, submitted through the help-centre request form or posted to one of three published addresses. Redbubble states that "Once this is received, the account will be closed for you and any final payments will be processed." The separate User Agreement provision is broader and is the citable one: "In the unfortunate event that a User dies or becomes permanently incapacitated, we may request certain documents from such User's successors, assigns, or legal representatives including, but not limited to, a death certificate, proof of succession, or power of attorney." On closure the profile and all works are removed while existing comments remain, and there is no published route for an heir to take over the account — only a single natural person may be the owner of an account. Accrued earnings are not forfeited: the User Agreement provides that "Upon termination of this User Agreement by either party, you will be paid any accrued Margin proceeds from your account, less any applicable administration fees." Because the artist retains the copyright in the uploaded designs, the designs themselves pass to the estate independently of the account and can be used elsewhere.

Frequently asked questions
Redbubble classifies accounts into three tiers and deducts a platform fee from gross earnings each payment period: Standard accounts 50%, Premium accounts 20%, Pro accounts nothing. Platform fees for Standard and Premium are capped at $150 / EUR150 / GBP150 per payment period, with anything above the cap credited back within the same period. An excess markup fee also applies to earnings on products priced with a markup above 20%, again only for Standard and Premium. Neither fee is ever charged out of pocket — they apply only when a sale is made — and both reduce the final balance the same way they reduce any other monthly payment.
