Paramount+ is Paramount's streaming platform offering CBS shows, Paramount films, live sports (NFL, UEFA Champions League, UFC), and original content. An account holds profiles (up to 6), watchlists (My List), viewing history, continue-watching progress, and downloaded titles. The Paramount+ Premium plan (formerly Paramount+ with SHOWTIME) integrates all SHOWTIME content into a premium tier. Content is licensed, not owned. Accounts are non-transferable per Sections 9.4 and 20.7 of the Terms of Use. Paramount+ has no published bereavement policy; because the account holds only licensed access with no owned library or stored balance, access is forfeited at death and the post-death task is stopping recurring charges (including any third-party billing wrapper).
Paramount+ accounts are forfeited at death under the program's terms. The terms explicitly state that accounts are not the account holder's property and cannot be inherited, transferred by will, or assigned through any estate planning mechanism.
What happens at death
Paramount+ has no published bereavement or deceased-user policy. The Terms of Use grant only "a limited, non-exclusive, and non-transferable right" to install and use the service (Section 9.4) and state that "These Terms of Use, and any rights, licenses or obligations you receive hereunder, cannot be transferred or assigned by you" (Section 20.7). All content is licensed, not owned, and access ends with the subscription. Because the account carries no owned media library and no stored or gift balance, the practical outcome at death is forfeiture: access is lost when the subscription is cancelled or lapses, and nothing transfers to the estate. Downloaded titles become unplayable once the subscription ends. There is no mechanism to transfer profiles, watchlists, viewing history, or continue-watching data to another account. Section 5.8(a)(ii)(C) states "YOU WILL NOT BE REFUNDED FOR ANY FEES YOU HAVE PAID" on cancellation, with limited discretionary exceptions. Self-service cancellation via Account settings is the documented path when the executor has login credentials; without credentials, the only documented contact path is the Help Center chat (type "Agent" in the speech-bubble icon at help.paramountplus.com).
