How your Veridian accounts transfer at death depends on how each one is set up. As a membership-based credit union, Veridian branch locations across Iowa (Waterloo/Cedar Falls, Cedar Rapids, Iowa City, Des Moines metro), eastern Nebraska (Omaha, Council Bluffs area), and the Twin Cities metro in Minnesota (Eden Prairie). Veridian expanded into Minnesota through its acquisition of AIBM, gaining field of membership in eight counties: Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, Scott, Washington, and Wright. Members also have access to 5,000+ shared branch locations nationwide through the CO-OP Shared Branch Network. With 18 account types, the transfer rules vary—getting the right designations in place now prevents delays and court involvement later.

Beneficiary designations at Veridian can be managed in branch and by phone, typically taking 15-30 minutes in branch. Trust funding is also available, allowing families to retitle accounts into the name of a revocable living trust.

Veridian provides specific procedures for both proactive estate planning and filing claims after a death.

ATM transactions, ACH payments, checks, and eChecks do not count toward the 15 transactions. There are no monthly fees or minimum balance requirements. Only one Premium Checking account is allowed per tax identification number.
