Frequently asked questions

IRA beneficiaries are designated at account opening and can be updated at any time by submitting a new beneficiary designation form. Contact the Member Service Center at 866-56-TOWER or visit any branch to request the form. Both individuals and trusts may be named as IRA beneficiaries. Tower offers Traditional IRA, Roth IRA, SEP IRA, and IRA Certificate options.

Tower FCU offers wealth management services through Tower Wealth Management, with securities and advisory services provided through LPL Financial (member FINRA/SIPC). Services include retirement planning, investment planning, and comprehensive wealth management. Non-deposit investment products are not NCUA insured, not credit union guaranteed, and may lose value. Tower receives compensation from LPL Financial for referrals.

Membership is open to current or former employees of Tower sponsor agencies (primarily government and defense sector employers in the DC metro area), employees of partner companies, family members of existing Tower members, and anyone who makes a $35 donation to The TowerCares Foundation. An initial $15 deposit opens a free checking account and a Prime Share savings account, establishing lifetime membership. Tower serves members in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington D.C.

Tower FCU has 11 branch locations across Maryland, including Columbia, Hanover, Annapolis Junction, Ellicott City, Laurel, Clarksville, Millersville, Pasadena, Gambrills, Owings Mills, and Annapolis. Members also have access to 30,000+ fee-free ATMs nationwide.
