Suncoast offers 18 accounts, each with its own rules for what happens when a member dies. As a membership-based credit union, Suncoast serves individuals who live, work, worship, or attend school in 40 Florida counties: Alachua, Brevard, Broward, Charlotte, Citrus, Clay, Collier, DeSoto, Dixie, Duval, Gilchrist, Glades, Hardee, Hendry, Hernando, Highlands, Hillsborough, Indian River, Lake, Lee, Leon, Levy, Manatee, Marion, Martin, Miami-Dade, Monroe, Orange, Osceola, Palm Beach, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk, Sarasota, Seminole, St. Johns, St. Lucie, Sumter, and Volusia. Public K-12 teachers, college educators, and educational support staff from all 67 Florida counties are also eligible. Family members of existing members qualify for membership. Some transfer automatically to a named beneficiary, others can be held in a trust, and a few may require probate if no plan is in place.

Account holders can update their beneficiary designations at Suncoast in branch and by phone. Accounts can also be retitled into a trust to keep them out of probate entirely.

To name Suncoast Trust Services as successor trustee, your attorney will need to incorporate Suncoast's Special Trust Provisions document into your trust agreement.
