- Navigant supports both Payable on Death (POD) accounts and Totten Trust accounts for beneficiary designations on deposit accounts
- Totten Trust accounts do not require a formal trust document
- Beneficiaries must provide their name and residential address
- Beneficiaries have no interest in or access to the account until the death of all account owners
- Upon death of the last surviving owner, funds pass to then-living beneficiaries in equal shares
- Certain Rhode Island state law restrictions may apply to POD accounts
- IRA beneficiary designations are separate from deposit account POD designations
