Frequently asked questions

MSUFCU does not currently support adding POD beneficiary designations directly through online banking. However, you can submit the completed Beneficiary Designation Form via eMessage through your online banking portal. You can also contact MSUFCU to have a representative issue the form electronically via DocuSign for completion.

Yes, MSUFCU offers trust accounts for deposit products. Bring your trust agreement or Certificate of Trust, government-issued ID for all trustees, and the trust EIN or grantor SSN to any branch. Contact Specialty and Support Services at 517-333-2424 to schedule an appointment. Trust accounts qualify for NCUA insurance up to $250,000 per qualifying beneficiary.

Members Trust Company (MTC), founded in 1987, is the leading provider of trust and investment services to America's credit unions. MTC is regulated by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency and acts as trustee or co-trustee with fiduciary responsibility. IRAs cannot be titled to a trust. However, you can name your trust as the beneficiary of your Traditional, Roth, or SEP IRA at MSUFCU. The Savings Builder is a three-tiered blended rate savings account that pays higher dividends on your initial savings to help you build your balance faster. Different dividend rates apply to each balance tier, with higher rates on the first tier. You must have a qualifying MSUFCU checking account (Rebuild, Totally Green, Classic, or Money Market Checking) to open a Savings Builder.

Silver Spartan is a free membership benefit for MSUFCU members age 55 and older. Benefits include a Classic Checking account with no monthly service fee, one free box of checks per year, free money orders and cashier's checks, free notary services, free domestic wire transfers, free incoming wires, and discounted international wire transfers.
