iQ Credit Union is a credit union offering 10 accounts that interact with estate planning in different ways. As a membership-based credit union, iQ Credit Union seventeen branches across Southwest Washington and the Portland, Oregon metro. Washington: Battle Ground, Camas, 192nd (Camas), Ridgefield, Salmon Creek, Stevenson, Washougal, and six Vancouver branches (Cascade, Downtown, Fishers Landing, Hazel Dell, Sifton, Van Mall). Oregon: Happy Valley, Sherwood, St. Johns (Portland), and Williams (Portland). Because branch coverage straddles the state line, the same iQ account can be settled under two different estate regimes: Washington is a community property state with its own small-estate affidavit procedure (RCW 11.62), Oregon is not a community property state and uses its own simple-estate affidavit (ORS 114.505 et seq.). Members also reach nearly 30,000 fee-free ATMs and 5,000 shared branches nationwide through the CO-OP network. Understanding how each account transfers at death—and which ones a trust can hold—helps families avoid probate delays and unintended outcomes.
Managing beneficiaries at iQ Credit Union is straightforward—changes can be made in branch, by mail, and by phone, typically taking 15-30 minutes in branch; longer by mail. Trust funding is also available, allowing families to retitle accounts into the name of a revocable living trust.
iQ Credit Union provides specific procedures for both proactive estate planning and filing claims after a death.

No, and this is a common gap. Section 4 of the iQ Membership and Account Agreement states that "any POD beneficiary designation shall not apply to IRA accounts which shall be governed by a separate beneficiary designation." iQ offers both an IRA share/money market and an IRA certificate, and each is settled on its own IRA beneficiary designation form. A member who walked into a branch, put POD beneficiaries on the Account Card for checking, savings, and a certificate, and assumed the IRA came along has left the IRA uncovered — where it will fall back to the IRA custodial default. Ask iQ specifically for the IRA beneficiary designation form, and note that an IRA can never be retitled into a living trust; the trust would have to be named on that form as beneficiary instead.
