Frequently asked questions

Yes. GO2bank is a brand of Green Dot Bank, Member FDIC. Deposits are insured up to $250,000 per depositor. Green Dot Bank also operates under the trade names GoBank and Bonneville Bank. Deposits under all of these trade names are aggregated for FDIC insurance coverage -- they are all the same bank.

GO2bank, GoBank, and Bonneville Bank are all registered trade names of the same institution: Green Dot Bank. The FDIC aggregates deposits across all trade names of the same bank for insurance purposes. If you hold accounts under multiple Green Dot Bank trade names, your combined deposits are insured up to $250,000 per depositor, not $250,000 per trade name.

GO2bank offers overdraft protection up to $300 for eligible purchase transactions after you opt in. To qualify, you need eligible direct deposits and an activated chip-enabled debit card. A $15 fee applies to each eligible purchase transaction that brings your account negative, unless you bring your balance to $0 within 24 hours of authorization of the first overdrawn transaction. Transactions under $5 or that overdraw the account by $10 or less are not charged a fee. The maximum overdraft fee per statement period is $150. Cash withdrawals, bill payments within the app, and person-to-person transfers are not covered by overdraft protection -- only debit card purchase transactions are eligible.
