EagleBank offers 13 consumer accounts that interact with estate planning in distinct ways. Of those, 11 can name a trust as beneficiary or be retitled into a trust. Understanding the transfer methods available for each account type helps families keep assets out of probate and ensure they pass to the right people.
Managing beneficiaries at EagleBank is straightforward—changes can be made in branch and by phone, typically taking 15-30 minutes at a branch. Trust funding is also available, allowing families to retitle accounts into the name of a revocable living trust.
EagleBank provides specific procedures for both proactive estate planning and filing claims after a death.

EagleBank allows checking, savings, money market, and CD accounts to be retitled to a revocable living trust. Call 301.986.1800 or 877.575.3245 to schedule an appointment, then visit a branch with the Certificate of Trust or the complete trust agreement, government-issued photo ID for every trustee, and the trust tax identification number (usually the grantor's SSN for a revocable trust; an EIN for an irrevocable trust). A banker reviews the trust, verifies trustee authority, and has you sign new signature cards in the trust name. EagleBank is a Maryland chartered commercial bank, not a trust company — it will hold accounts titled to your trust, but it will not serve as your trustee. IRAs cannot be retitled to a trust; name the trust as beneficiary instead.
EagleBank publishes its own FDIC Insurance Information notice (https://www.eaglebankcorp.com/media/filer_public/77/61/7761d5df-bfe0-427e-9f47-b5b4dcf7fe94/website_fdicinsurancenotice_052020_final.pdf). It states that a trust account is insured to $250,000 per owner per beneficiary, subject to FDIC requirements; a joint account to $250,000 per co-owner; a single account and an IRA each to $250,000 per owner. That per-beneficiary math is why retitling a large deposit into a revocable trust with several named beneficiaries can raise coverage. For balances above the limits, EagleBank also offers CDARS certificates and Insured Cash Sweep, which place deposits at other FDIC-insured institutions through its network — an executor inventorying the estate should ask for the placement statement, because the money is held outside EagleBank.
