How your Alliant accounts transfer at death depends on how each one is set up. As a membership-based credit union, Alliant online-only credit union available nationwide. No physical branch locations. Membership open through partner organizations or a $5 donation to Foster Care to Success. With 13 account types, the transfer rules vary—getting the right designations in place now prevents delays and court involvement later.
Beneficiary designations at Alliant can be managed online and by mail, typically taking 15-30 minutes to complete form; processing time varies. Trust funding is also available, allowing families to retitle accounts into the name of a revocable living trust.
There are two sides to estate planning at Alliant: setting things up while you're alive, and the process survivors follow after a death.
