How your Workers CU accounts transfer at death depends on how each one is set up. As a membership-based credit union, Workers CU membership open through multiple pathways: immediate family members or household members of existing members; those who live, work, worship, or attend school in Lowell or Worcester, Massachusetts; employees of participating employers; or through the Financial Fitness Association or a $5 contribution to United Way of North Central MA (both paid by Workers CU). Sixteen full-service branches in Athol, Chelmsford, Fitchburg, Gardner, Groton, Hudson, Lancaster, Leominster, Lunenburg, Orange, Townsend, Westford, and Worcester, plus three PlanIt locations in Worcester, Lowell, and Hudson. Headquarters at 119 Russell Street, Littleton, MA 01460. High school branch at Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical School. Members have access to thousands of surcharge-free ATMs and shared branch network nationwide through the CO-OP Network. Routing Number: 211382931. NMLS #472618. With 18 account types, the transfer rules vary—getting the right designations in place now prevents delays and court involvement later.

Beneficiary changes at Workers CU can be made in branch and by phone. Accounts can also be retitled into a trust to keep them out of probate entirely.

Workers CU has documented procedures for both preparing accounts during your lifetime and handling claims when an account holder passes away.
