How your VyStar accounts transfer at death depends on how each one is set up. As a membership-based credit union, VyStar field of membership: people who live or work in a county VyStar serves (48 Florida counties and 29 Georgia counties listed on its Areas We Serve page), family members of VyStar members or eligible persons, active duty, reservist and retired/veteran/annuitant military personnel and civilian employees of the armed forces and their immediate family, employees or clients of Brightway, and donors to the VyStar Foundation. Branches are in Florida and Georgia. With 17 account types, the transfer rules vary—getting the right designations in place now prevents delays and court involvement later.
