VW Credit is a auto finance company, so the estate planning question is about a debt, not an asset. When the borrower dies, the estate must notify VW Credit and resolve the outstanding balance—through payoff, assumption, discharge, or surrender depending on the loan—rather than name a beneficiary.
There are two sides to estate planning at VW Credit: setting things up while you're alive, and the process survivors follow after a death.

A Transfer of Equity moves a financed vehicle's account to a qualified party who wants to keep it; a Lease Assumption does the same for a leased vehicle. Volkswagen Financial Services and Audi Financial Services state that both processes typically take 4 to 6 weeks to complete, pending a credit check and applicable fees. Contact the servicer through the Message Center or by phone to start an application.
A qualified party who wants to keep a financed vehicle can apply for a Transfer of Equity, and for a leased vehicle can apply for a Lease Assumption. Both are subject to a credit check and applicable fees and take about 4 to 6 weeks. Alternatively, the estate can pay off a loan and retitle the vehicle, or buy out a lease at the contract purchase option. Payments must be kept current in the meantime, because the vehicle secures the account and can be repossessed if it falls behind.
Request a payoff quote online by logging in to My Account (myAudi for an Audi account) and selecting "Request a payoff quote," or ask a Customer Experience Representative through the Message Center or by phone. Written correspondence and related documents can be mailed to the Consumer Credit Team: Volkswagen Financial Services c/o Consumer Credit Team, 1401 Franklin Blvd., Libertyville, IL 60048 (address Audi accounts to Audi Financial Services c/o Consumer Credit Team at the same location). Include the account number so documents are matched to the account.
