Branch hours: Monday-Friday 9:00 AM-5:00 PM; Mission Valley and Davis branches also open Saturday 9:00 AM-2:00 PM. At BluPeak CU, beneficiary designations are managed in branch and by phone. Accounts can also be retitled into a trust to keep them out of probate entirely.
BluPeak CU has documented procedures for both preparing accounts during your lifetime and handling claims when an account holder passes away.

They are the same institution. USE Credit Union (University & State Employees Credit Union), founded in 1936, rebranded to BluPeak Credit Union in 2022. The name change reflected the credit union's expanded membership beyond its original base of university and state employees. All accounts, products, and services continued unchanged under the new name.
Membership eligibility is the practical constraint on a credit union trust account. Per blupeak.com/join, membership runs to anyone who lives, works, or worships in the California counties of Alameda, Sacramento, San Diego, Santa Clara, or Yolo; employees of the State of California; employees, retirees, students, and alumni of the University of California and California State University systems; employees and members of a Select Employee Group; and the immediate family of a member or a person living in the same residence and maintaining a single economic unit with a member. The household and immediate-family route is usually how an out-of-area successor trustee qualifies. The Account Agreement makes the same point for joint accounts: a joint tenant cannot vote, borrow, or hold office unless that person is within the field of membership and is a qualified member.
