Frequently asked questions

No. SoFi does not currently offer trust or business accounts. Only individual accounts (and joint investment accounts) are available. Customers who require trust accounts for estate planning should consider traditional banks or brokerages that support trust ownership.

No. SoFi does not currently offer CDs. However, SoFi offers Savings Vaults, which allow you to organize your money for specific savings goals. Each Vault earns the same APY as your savings account with no fees or minimum balance requirements.

You can add up to 5 primary and 5 secondary beneficiaries to your SoFi Checking and Savings accounts. Balances are split evenly among primary beneficiaries. Secondary beneficiaries receive funds only if no primary beneficiary is living. Custom percentage allocations are not available.

SoFi offers Active Invest (self-directed brokerage for stocks, ETFs, options, mutual funds, and alternative funds), Automated Invest (robo-advisor managed portfolios), Joint Invest accounts, and retirement accounts including Traditional IRA, Roth IRA, SEP IRA, and Rollover IRA. All invest accounts are available with $0 commissions and no account minimum.
