Frequently asked questions

Visit any Redstone branch, call 800-234-1234 (Monday-Friday 8 AM - 5:30 PM CT, Saturday 8 AM - 2 PM CT), or request a beneficiary form by mail. Online beneficiary designation is not currently available. You will need to provide beneficiary details including full name, date of birth, and relationship. Redstone recommends reviewing beneficiary designations every 3-5 years or after major life events.

Redstone partners with Trust & Will to offer members a 20% discount on online estate planning services including wills, trusts, guardianship designations, healthcare documents, power of attorney, and beneficiary designations. Complimentary first document shipment is included for members. Plans can be completed in approximately 30 minutes. These services are not NCUA insured and Redstone does not guarantee or endorse Trust & Will products.

Yes. Visit any Redstone branch with your trust document (or Certificate of Trust), government-issued photo ID for all trustees, and the trust EIN or SSN. You will need to complete new account paperwork in the trust name. Existing accounts may need to be closed and reopened under the trust title. IRA accounts cannot be retitled to a trust but can name a trust as beneficiary.

IRAs cannot be retitled to a trust. However, you may be able to name a trust as the beneficiary of your IRA. Consult a tax advisor before doing so, as naming a trust as IRA beneficiary can have significant tax implications for distribution timelines and required minimum distributions. S.T.A.R. Club Savings is a youth savings account for children ages 0-12. It requires a $5 minimum deposit to open. Children automatically become S.T.A.R. Club members when they open their first savings account. When your child turns 13, they can open their own Safeguard Checking account to learn financial responsibility with a debit card.
