How your PSECU accounts transfer at death depends on how each one is set up. As a membership-based credit union, PSECU membership open to nearly any Pennsylvania resident through four pathways: employment at one of over 1,000 eligible employers, educational affiliation with PSECU-partnered colleges and universities, family connection to an existing member (including parents, stepparents, siblings, step-siblings, grandparents, spouses, or household members), or joining the Pennsylvania Recreation and Park Society (PRPS) or Pennsylvania Consumer Council. Digital-first model with limited physical branches: Lemoyne (1249 Market Street), Cameron Street (One Innovation Way, Harrisburg), and a service center in State College (502 E. College Avenue). With 10 account types, the transfer rules vary—getting the right designations in place now prevents delays and court involvement later.
Beneficiary designations at PSECU can be managed by mail and by phone, typically taking 15-30 minutes to complete; allow 1-2 weeks if you mail it. Trust funding is also available, allowing families to retitle accounts into the name of a revocable living trust.
PSECU has documented procedures for both preparing accounts during your lifetime and handling claims when an account holder passes away.

Yes, with conditions. The documentation checklist on page 3 of PSECU's Living Trust Membership Application (Form 2114) accepts a notarized Certificate of Trust only when it is accompanied by specific excerpts from the trust agreement: the first page identifying the grantor/settlor and the date the trust was established, the trustee and successor-trustee provisions, language showing whether trustees may act individually, the trustee powers, and the signature and notarization pages. You may instead submit the complete trust document. An IRS EIN assignment letter is required only if the trust is irrevocable. Trustee #1 on the application becomes the account's primary contact and mail recipient. Send it to PSECU, P.O. Box 67009, Harrisburg, PA 17106-7009 or fax (717) 720-1234.
