OceanFirst offers 12 consumer accounts that interact with estate planning in distinct ways. Of those, 9 can name a trust as beneficiary or be retitled into a trust. Understanding the transfer methods available for each account type helps families keep assets out of probate and ensure they pass to the right people.
OceanFirst lets account holders update beneficiary designations in branch and by phone, typically taking 15-30 minutes in branch. Trust funding is also available, allowing families to retitle accounts into the name of a revocable living trust.
There are two sides to estate planning at OceanFirst: setting things up while you're alive, and the process survivors follow after a death.

Yes. OceanFirst Financial Corp. completed its merger with Flushing Financial Corporation on June 1, 2026, and OceanFirst Bank, N.A. is the surviving bank; Flushing Bank now operates as a division of OceanFirst Bank while the systems are fully integrated later in 2026. Statements and branches carry the "Flushing Bank, a division of OceanFirst Bank" wording during the transition, account and routing numbers are unchanged until customers get at least 30 days notice, and FDIC insurance on the two institutions' deposits stays separately calculated for at least six months after the merger. Existing P.O.D. designations, trust registrations, and account paperwork carry over.
