How your MIDFLORIDA accounts transfer at death depends on how each one is set up. As a membership-based credit union, MIDFLORIDA serves individuals and businesses who live, work, worship, or attend school in 59 of the 67 counties in Florida. Members outside the branch footprint can join through online banking services. 64+ branch locations concentrated along the I-4 corridor from Tampa to Orlando, with additional branches across central and south Florida. As of March 1, 2026, MIDFLORIDA acquired Prime Meridian Bank branches in the Tallahassee market. With 15 account types, the transfer rules vary—getting the right designations in place now prevents delays and court involvement later.
At MIDFLORIDA, beneficiary designations are managed in branch and by phone. Accounts can also be retitled into a trust to keep them out of probate entirely.
There are two sides to estate planning at MIDFLORIDA: setting things up while you're alive, and the process survivors follow after a death.
