First National Bank has 23 accounts, each with different rules for what happens when the account holder dies. Of those, 21 can name a trust as beneficiary or be retitled into a trust. The right combination of beneficiary designations and trust ownership can keep the entire portfolio out of probate.

Beneficiary designations at First National Bank can be managed online, in branch, and by phone, typically taking 15-30 minutes online or at a branch. Trust funding is also available, allowing families to retitle accounts into the name of a revocable living trust.

First National Bank provides specific procedures for both proactive estate planning and filing claims after a death.

Yes. FNB checking, savings, money market, and CD accounts can be retitled to a revocable living trust by visiting a branch with the trust document (or Certification of Trust) and government-issued ID for all trustees. Complete the account application and signature card in the trust name. IRA accounts cannot be retitled to a trust, but a trust may be named as beneficiary. For investment and trust accounts, contact F.N.B. Wealth Management at 1-877-871-7680.

FNB offers standard Certificates of Deposit (3 to 60 month terms, $500 minimum), Flex CDs (9-month term with the flexibility to make additional deposits or one penalty-free withdrawal of $500+ per month), and Savers Goal CDs (12-month term with automatic monthly deposits of $25+ from an FNB checking or savings account). IRA CDs are also available in Traditional and Roth IRA formats. All CDs are FDIC-insured and support POD beneficiary designations.

When you open an IRA at FNB, you are given a beneficiary designation form to complete. To update your beneficiary, complete a new beneficiary designation form at any branch or contact customer service at 1-800-555-5455. Review your beneficiary designation form at least every two to three years and update it to reflect changes in financial circumstances. A trust may be named as beneficiary for IRA accounts.
