As a membership-based credit union, First Federal CU six branch locations: Cedar Rapids (First Avenue SW), Westdale (Cedar Rapids), Hiawatha, Marion, Spencer, and Urbana. Yes. Deposit accounts such as checking, savings, money market, and certificates can be retitled to a revocable living trust. Visit a branch with your trust agreement or Certificate of Trust, government-issued ID for all trustees, and the trust EIN if applicable. Allow 1-2 weeks for retitling to complete. Contact the credit union at (319) 743-7806 to discuss the process.

Membership is open to anyone who lives, works, worships, or attends school in Linn, Benton, Buena Vista, Clay, or Dickinson County, Iowa. Membership is established by opening a Share Savings Account with a minimum $5 deposit. Accounts are federally insured by NCUA.

Premier Rewards Checking earns 4.00% APY on balances up to $50,000 when you meet monthly requirements (10 qualifying debit card purchases of $10 or more, $500+ in direct deposits, and e-statement enrollment). It is limited to one account per membership. Charity Checking rewards you for each qualifying PIN debit card transaction over $10, with accumulated rewards paid annually by November 30th, and a matching donation made to a rotating local charity each quarter. Both require $50 to open, carry no minimum balance, and have no monthly service charge.

The Fed Up Money Market account rate is tied to Federal Reserve changes: when the Fed adjusts the Fed Funds Overnight Rate by 0.25%, the Fed Up Money Market rate on qualifying balances changes by at least 0.10%. The account requires a $10,000 minimum opening deposit, has no monthly maintenance fee, and provides immediate access to funds. Compounded rates are paid on the entire account balance. The account is federally insured by NCUA.
