There are two ways to keep your Dollar Bank accounts out of probate: adding beneficiary designations and retitling eligible accounts into a revocable living trust. Which approach works best depends on the account type and your overall estate plan.

Across 21 product types, Dollar Bank accounts vary in how they transfer at death. The sections below walk through Payable on Death (POD) designations, trust funding options, and which products support each method.

1
Visit any Dollar Bank branch (locations at https://dollar.bank/contact) with a valid government-issued photo ID.
2
Request to add or update a Payable on Death (POD) or In Trust For (ITF) beneficiary on your account.
3
Complete the beneficiary designation on the Signature Card:
  • Provide beneficiary name and relationship
  • Provide date of birth and Social Security number

Required Documents

  • Trust name, date established, and tax ID (EIN or SSN)

Special Requirements

  • Dollar Bank does not offer online beneficiary updates -- POD/ITF changes must be made in person at a branch.
  • Dollar Bank may limit the number of beneficiaries per account in accordance with applicable law.
  • POD and ITF designations are recorded on the Signature Card; beneficiaries have no rights during the account owner's lifetime.
  • The bank may review trust agreements and fiduciary documents, and may require notarized signatures or other proof of authenticity.
  • The account owner may remove beneficiaries at any time or close the account by withdrawing all funds.
