Frequently asked questions

Yes. Using form BRA-1032A, Banco Popular can authorize a funeral-expense advance of up to $15,000 (issued as an official check payable directly to the funeral home, not reimbursed to heirs), and a general advance of up to $15,000 or 25% of the total funds, whichever is greater, before the full Declaration of Heirs process concludes and before the Relevo de Hacienda is obtained. Final disbursement is made by a single official check payable to all heirs and co-owners.
