America's CU offers 27 accounts, each with its own rules for what happens when a member dies. As a membership-based credit union, America's CU headquartered in Garland, TX. Seven branch locations: Central Expressway (Dallas), Garland, Lancaster, Mesquite, Royal (Dallas), White Rock (Dallas, opened July 2025 at 8818 Garland Road), and a Springfield, MO office (2350 East Bennett) serving select employer groups (Kraft Heinz, Don Johnson's Tobacco World, Commercial Metals Company). Membership open to anyone who lives, works, worships, or attends school in Dallas, Collin, or Rockwall County in Texas. Family members of eligible individuals can also join. Founded November 6, 1934; completed 18 mergers since the 1980s including GO Federal Credit Union in 2021 (15,000 members, $135 million in assets). More than 100 employees, nearly $400 million in total assets, and over 30,000 members. Some transfer automatically to a named beneficiary, others can be held in a trust, and a few may require probate if no plan is in place.

Beneficiary designations at America's CU can be managed in branch and by phone, typically taking 15-30 minutes in branch. Trust funding is also available, allowing families to retitle accounts into the name of a revocable living trust.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. Deposit accounts such as checking, savings, money market, and CDs can be retitled to a revocable living trust. Visit a branch with your trust agreement or Certificate of Trust, government-issued ID for all trustees, and the trust EIN if applicable. Allow 1-2 weeks for retitling to complete. IRA accounts cannot be retitled to a trust, but a trust can be named as the IRA beneficiary.

Anyone who lives, works, worships, or attends school in Dallas, Collin, or Rockwall County in Texas is eligible to join. Select employer groups in Springfield, Missouri (including Kraft Heinz) are also eligible. Family members of qualifying individuals can join regardless of location. Membership is established by opening a share savings account with a $25 minimum deposit.

America's Credit Union has seven branch locations: Central Expressway (4040 N Central Expressway, Suite 100, Dallas), Garland (2154 Forest Lane), Lancaster (3200 W Pleasant Run Road, Suite 100), Mesquite (3001 Motley Drive, Suite A), Royal (10501 N Central Expy, Suite 100, Dallas), White Rock (8818 Garland Road, Dallas), and a Springfield, MO office (2350 East Bennett). Lobby hours at the Garland branch are Monday-Thursday 9am-5pm, Friday 8am-5pm, and Saturday 9am-noon. Drive-thru hours are Monday-Friday 8am-6pm and Saturday 9am-noon.

Momentum+ Rewards Checking is America's Credit Union's rewards checking account featuring early direct deposit access (up to 2 days early), overdraft forgiveness, ATM fee reimbursement up to $35 per month, and tiered new-member bonuses up to $200. The $9.99 monthly fee is waived with $600 or more in qualifying monthly direct deposits (payroll, pension, or government benefits). It pairs with Momentum+ Rewards Savings to unlock higher savings rates up to 4.00% APY.

Yes. America's Credit Union offers a Coverdell Education Savings Account (ESA) with tax-free growth on qualified education expenses including tuition, fees, books, supplies, and equipment. The annual contribution limit is $2,000 per beneficiary. Contributions are allowed until the beneficiary reaches age 18, and funds must be distributed by age 30. Consult a tax advisor for eligibility and contribution rules.

Yes. While IRA accounts (Traditional IRA, Roth IRA, and IRA Certificates) cannot be retitled to a trust, America's Credit Union allows you to name a trust as the beneficiary of an IRA. Complete the IRA beneficiary designation paperwork at a branch. Beneficiary designations for IRA accounts are handled separately from deposit account POD designations.

America's Credit Union offers standard Certificates of Deposit ($1,000 minimum), Mini-Jumbo CDs ($50,000 minimum), and Jumbo CDs ($99,000 minimum) with terms from 6 months to 5 years. Promotional 7-month and 13-month CDs are periodically available at promotional rates. IRA Certificates are also available with a $500 minimum deposit. All CDs are NCUA insured up to $250,000 and can be retitled to a revocable living trust.

Yes. America's Credit Union offers fixed-rate home equity loans with 15-year and 30-year terms. There are no prepayment penalties and no application fees with low closing costs. Maximum combined loan-to-value ratio is 80%. Home equity loans are subject to Texas home equity rules under the Texas Constitution Article XVI, Section 50.
