Upstart is a lending marketplace, not the lender of record. Its standard promissory note is made for value received from Cross River Bank, a New Jersey state-chartered bank, which originates the loan; Upstart Network then markets and services it. For some bank and credit-union partners, and some auto products, the lending partner services its own loans, so the estate should confirm the current servicer from the borrower's statement or the My Account dashboard before sending documents.
A payoff check can be mailed to Upstart Loan Operations, PO Box 1503, San Carlos, CA 94070; include the loan account number so the payment is applied correctly.
