Upgrade's own help center article, "Can I add a beneficiary to my checking/savings account?", answers in one sentence: "At this time, we are unable to add beneficiaries." There is no POD form, no phone workaround, and no in-app flow, and it applies to Rewards Checking Preferred, Performance Savings, Premier Savings, and Everyday Savings alike. A trust cannot be named as beneficiary either, and Upgrade does not open trust-titled deposit accounts. The practical result: a solo-titled Upgrade balance is a probate asset, full stop.
