Sikorsky FCU is a credit union offering 21 accounts that interact with estate planning in different ways. As a membership-based credit union, Sikorsky FCU membership open to anyone who lives, works, worships, or volunteers in Fairfield, New Haven, or Hartford counties in Connecticut. Immediate family members of existing members are also eligible. Join by opening a Member Savings account with a $5 minimum deposit. Nine branches as of early 2026: Stratford (2 locations including headquarters at 1000 Oronoque Lane), Bridgeport (2 locations — the Sikorsky Aircraft facility branch is restricted to Sikorsky Aircraft employees), Milford, Shelton, Trumbull, Seymour, and Brookfield. A tenth branch at 1643 Post Road, Fairfield is anticipated to open in 2026. Understanding how each account transfers at death—and which ones a trust can hold—helps families avoid probate delays and unintended outcomes.

Beneficiary changes at Sikorsky FCU can be made in branch and by mail. Accounts can also be retitled into a trust to keep them out of probate entirely.

There are two sides to estate planning at Sikorsky FCU: setting things up while you're alive, and the process survivors follow after a death.

To earn full rewards on Kasasa Cash or Kasasa Cash Back checking, you must make at least 12 debit card purchases per monthly qualification cycle, log in to online banking, and be enrolled in e-Statements. Kasasa Cash pays 4.00% APY on balances up to $25,000 (0.50% on balances above $25,000); Kasasa Cash Back pays 4.00% cash back on up to $300 in debit card purchases per month (maximum $12.00 cash back per cycle). ATM fee refunds up to $25 per month ($4.99 max per single transaction) when qualified. If qualifications are not met in a given cycle, the base dividend rate applies. A companion Kasasa Saver account can automatically receive your checking rewards.

Yes. Checking, savings, money market, and share certificate accounts can be retitled to trust ownership by visiting any Sikorsky Credit Union branch with the trust document or Certificate of Trust, government-issued ID for all trustees, and the trust EIN if applicable. Because deposit accounts at Sikorsky CU do not accept trusts as POD beneficiaries, retitling to trust ownership is the method for including these accounts in a living trust. Call Member Solutions at (203) 377-2252 or (888) 753-5553 to confirm what documentation is needed before your visit.

Yes. IRA accounts (Traditional IRA, Roth IRA, and IRA Share Certificate) allow a trust to be named as beneficiary using the IRA Beneficiary Form. Deposit accounts (checking, savings, money market, certificates) use a separate POD Beneficiary Designation Form, but that form accepts only natural persons — not trusts — as POD beneficiaries. To direct deposit account funds to a trust, retitle the account to trust ownership instead. Contact Member Solutions at (203) 377-2252 for the current IRA Beneficiary Form.
