How your Redstone FCU accounts transfer at death depends on how each one is set up. As a membership-based credit union, Redstone FCU membership is open to people who belong to one of more than 1,800 Membership Partner organizations; immediate family members of a Redstone member and people who live in the same household with a Redstone member; government employees and contractors, and active or retired military members and their dependents, on Redstone Arsenal and throughout Madison County; military reserve members in Madison County; and National Guard members in Madison, Morgan, and Limestone Counties (AL) and Lincoln County (TN). Joining requires opening a share savings account with a $5.00 minimum balance. With 22 account types, the transfer rules vary—getting the right designations in place now prevents delays and court involvement later.
