GLS is a auto finance company, so the estate planning question is about a debt, not an asset. When the borrower dies, the estate must notify GLS and resolve the outstanding balance—through payoff, assumption, discharge, or surrender depending on the loan—rather than name a beneficiary.

GLS provides specific procedures for both proactive estate planning and filing claims after a death.

Frequently asked questions

The exact payoff balance is available through the online Customer Portal at myglsloan.com (Request Payoff tab), through automated telephone self-service, or from Customer Care at 1-866-464-0269. A payoff or payment check can be mailed to Global Lending Services, P.O. Box 935538, Atlanta, GA 31193-5538 (overnight or certified mail: Lockbox Services Box #935538, 3585 Atlanta Ave., Hapeville, GA 30354). Interest accrues daily on a simple-interest loan, so confirm the exact figure before sending payment.

GLS holds a lien on the financed vehicle. After the account is paid in full and the payoff has posted, the certificate of title or a lien satisfaction is sent to the authorized party in accordance with state-specific regulations, so the vehicle can be retitled through the estate or sold. Title questions can be sent to titles@glsllc.com.
