A qualified party who wants to keep a financed or leased vehicle can apply to assume the contract through BMW Financial Services' assumption application (creditapp.bmwusa.com/Assumptions), or can pay off the loan and retitle the vehicle through the estate, or refinance the balance in their own name. BMW Financial Services evaluates any request under its credit and underwriting guidelines. Payments must be kept current in the meantime, because the vehicle secures the loan or lease and can be repossessed if the account falls behind.
Request the exact payoff amount through the My Account "Payoff Information" section or from Customer Service at 1-800-578-5000. BMW Financial Services provides payoff documents to print, complete, and return with certified funds; it does not honor payoff documents submitted by a third-party dealership. MINI loan and lease payments and payoffs are mailed to MINI Financial Services, P.O. Box 78103, Phoenix, AZ 85062-8103. Once the balance is satisfied, BMW Financial Services releases its lien and the title so the vehicle can be retitled or sold.
