How your Amplify CU accounts transfer at death depends on how each one is set up. As a membership-based credit union, Amplify CU headquartered in Austin, TX. Branch locations include Esperanza (2800 Esperanza Crossing near The Domain), Pond Springs (13050 Pond Springs Rd), Round Rock/La Frontera (115 Sundance Parkway Suite 500), and Cedar Park (5001 183A Toll Road Suite O500), plus a virtual branch. Membership open to anyone living, working, or studying in Texas, registered American Red Cross Central and South Texas Region volunteers, and Texas Consumer Council members. Direct family members of existing members are also eligible. Once a member, membership is retained for life even if you move out of state. Shared branch access through CO-OP Financial Services (5,000+ locations nationwide). With 19 account types, the transfer rules vary—getting the right designations in place now prevents delays and court involvement later.

Amplify CU lets account holders update beneficiary designations in branch and by phone, typically taking 15-30 minutes in branch. Trust funding is also available, allowing families to retitle accounts into the name of a revocable living trust.

Amplify CU provides specific procedures for both proactive estate planning and filing claims after a death.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. Deposit accounts at Amplify Credit Union — including checking, savings, high-yield savings, money market, and certificates of deposit — can be retitled to a revocable living trust. Bring your trust agreement or Certificate of Trust and government-issued photo ID for all trustees to a branch, along with the trust's tax identification number (EIN) if applicable. IRA accounts cannot be retitled to a trust, but a trust can be named as the IRA beneficiary. Contact Amplify at (512) 836-5901 or (800) 237-5087 to begin the process.

Yes. IRA share accounts and IRA certificates of deposit at Amplify Credit Union cannot be retitled into a trust, but a revocable or irrevocable trust can be named as the IRA beneficiary. Complete a separate IRA beneficiary designation form at a branch or with a virtual banker — IRA beneficiary forms are handled separately from deposit-account POD designations. Naming a trust as IRA beneficiary has significant tax consequences under the SECURE Act's 10-year payout rule; consult a licensed attorney or tax advisor before designating a trust as IRA beneficiary.
